Luxury Redefined: Unleash the Power and Prestige of Lotus Elétre

Eletre integrates Lotus Eletre’s 75 years of racing heritage and engineering expertise into a luxury lifestyle vehicle. In addition to superior aerodynamics and design, it features innovative technologies including fully embedded L4-ready hardware with the world’s first deployable LiDAR system. It is powered by Lotus’s proprietary 800-volt Electrical Performance Architecture, delivering a sportscar-like experience and enabling Lotus Tech’s 420-kilowatt supercharging solution. As of January 31, 2023, Lotus had received more than 5,000 Eletre orders worldwide.

The first Eletre delivery marks a key milestone in Lotus’s transformation into an advanced, fully electric, intelligent, and sustainable luxury mobility provider ahead of its 80th anniversary in 2028. The company is now rolling out further deliveries across China, and will begin delivery in the UK and EU later this year. Planning is also underway for future delivery to the U.S. and rest of the world, leveraging the brand’s global network.

Mr. Qingfeng Feng, Chief Executive Officer of Lotus Tech, commented, “Eletre is a crucial part of our plan to transform Lotus into a truly global electric car brand. We are a pioneer in the decarbonization of luxury automobiles, and the delivery of Eletre has demonstrated our capability to lead the energy transition and steer the industry towards a more sustainable future.”

Lotus Eletre Review: Redefining Luxury with Electrifying Performance

Lotus, renowned for its lightweight, high-performance sports cars, takes a bold leap into the future with the all-new Eletre, an electric SUV that challenges the brand’s traditional ethos. While it may diverge from the norm, the Eletre impressively combines the exhilaration of Lotus’ sports cars with the luxury and sustainability of electric power.

Performance That Thrills

Under the Eletre’s hood lies a formidable dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, delivering a staggering 603 horsepower in the base model. This powerhouse enables a sprint to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, showcasing its electrifying acceleration. For those seeking even more exhilaration, the top-of-the-line R variant boasts a jaw-dropping 905 horsepower, propelling you to 60 mph in a mere 2.7 seconds. However, be prepared for the intense experience as the R exhibits its spirited personality on the road.

Electric Efficiency at Its Best

With a 109.0-kWh battery pack, the Eletre offers a commendable range of around 315 miles in base and S trims. Even the high-performance R variant maintains a respectable 260 miles per charge. These figures position the Eletre as a practical choice for both daily commuting and long-distance journeys, combining luxury with eco-consciousness.

Interior Bliss

Inside the Eletre, Lotus surprises us with a cabin that oozes luxury and sophistication. Premium materials such as microfiber, stitched leather, wool-blend fabric, and milled bronze accents adorn the interior, elevating the overall ambiance. Comfortable sport seats make long drives a pleasure, while the aluminum switchgear with knurled details adds a touch of opulence reminiscent of Bentley.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The Eletre’s infotainment system is centered around a generous 15.1-inch touchscreen, featuring Geely’s ECARX system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, while an optional head-up display and a premium 23-speaker audio system with 1500 watts cater to tech-savvy enthusiasts.

Safety First

Lotus demonstrates a commitment to safety with the Eletre, equipping it with a suite of advanced driver-assistance features. LIDAR sensors mounted on the roof and front wheel arches enable semi-autonomous driving capabilities. Although specific details about these features are pending, we can expect standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist to ensure a safe journey.

Pricing

The Lotus Eletre is set to hit the U.S. market in 2023, with an estimated starting price below $85,000 for the base model. Considering its blend of performance, luxury, and electric efficiency, the Eletre is poised to captivate the discerning connoisseur of luxury cars, making it a compelling addition to the Lotus lineup. Embrace the future of automotive excellence with the Lotus Eletre.

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Lotus doesn’t provide spectacular coverage compared with other auto manufacturers. While its limited warranty aligns with many competitors, both its short powertrain plan and lack of complimentary maintenance are disappointing.

  • Limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  • Powertrain warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  • No complimentary scheduled maintenance
